Submit Evidence
Several thousand individuals are referred to Prevent every year. The impact of a Prevent referral is far-reaching since it is, in effect, an encounter with counter-terrorism. Often people are too embarrassed to share their experiences, or they are afraid of the repercussions of doing so.
We want to hear from you. This is crucial in an environment where the same narratives have been allowed to perpetuate Prevent and tightly control any reviews and amendments.
We’re inviting individuals, organisations and researchers who have boycotted the current Shawcross review and those who have not come forward before to submit their personal and professional experiences and evidence of the impact of Prevent on them or those close to them.
We are interested in submissions from individuals, the public and private sector as well as those working within the wider community and civil society.
Organisations and Individuals who are boycotting the Shawcross Review
We will be reaching out to all those organisations and individuals who are boycotting the Shawcross review. We will agree roundtables and one-to-one meeting as appropriate to ensure your voice is heard.
How to Submit Evidence
In the first instance please contact us via email outlining your proposed submission.
PreventReview@gmail.com
The deadline for submission is 30th September 2021.
Who will Review the Evidence
The evidence will be reviewed by our Co-Chairs with support from our expert Advisory Panel and will serve as a dossier of evidence available for the public and the government.
