This is the opportunity to work on a historic People’s Review of Prevent which has been setup as an alternative review to the Government’s Shawcross-led review. This review provides a voice to the people most impacted by the Prevent Duty and brings together community and civic society to document and voice the concerns of Prevent.

You will have the opportunity to work with leading academics, subject matter experts and community activists.

The Role

We’re looking for several researchers with an interest in Prevent to provide support to our growing team. The role would require a high level of initiative in conjunction with strong research skills. The research will cover a number of topic areas and will require data mining, collation and summary from a number of different sources. The successful candidates will report to the Head of Research and work closely with the co-chairs, advisory panel and others to deliver a range of discrete research-based work packages.

This role will be 3 month commitment part time or full time at a honorarium payment of £50 a day.

Main Responsibilities

To research, identify and collate data, statistics and information

To conduct desktop/ open-source research to identify sources and themes 

To assist with the analysis and presentation of data/information collected where necessary

To collate information using questionnaires /interviews where necessary as well as FOIs

To attend team meetings, advisory panel, round tables and other meetings as required

To report into the Head of Research

About You

Post-graduate degree or equivalent/other relevant experience

Experience in research preferably with information/data collection and analysis skills

Ability to think critically and analyse large pools of data

Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks according to daily workload

Excellent English written and verbal communication skills 

Good time management and organization skills 

Self motivated and ability to work independently after direction
